Dr. Yoke Yue Kan, CFA

Dr. Yoke Yue Kan, CFA, FHEA, is currently the Programme Lead for the BSc Finance and Business Management programme at Henley Business School, University of Reading Malaysia.

Prior to entering academia, she worked in banking and securities analysis, notably at Phileo Allied Bank and TA Securities Berhad. She has many fond, interesting, and enjoyable memories from her time at both organizations.

Dr. Kan has been a CFA Chartered holder since 2002. Her hobby is reading, and she is someone who learns best through reading—perhaps one of the reasons she succeeded in passing the CFA exams. She vividly remembers holding her first baby with her left arm and a revision book in her right hand while preparing for the CFA Level 3 exam years ago.

As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK), she has completed extensive training in teaching and learning. She is always happy to share effective learning techniques and time management skills for academic success.

She enjoys conducting research, and some of her academic publications include The Macroeconomic Environment of Bull Markets in Malaysia, Capital Market Offenses in Malaysia, and studies related to the RMB and Ringgit–US Dollar exchange rates.

In recent years, her interests have expanded beyond technical finance to include behavioural science, psychology, healthcare, and the aging population. She believes that cross-disciplinary knowledge and its application are key to leading a fulfilling life.
